Brasil Stop Motion International Film Festival

Brasil Stop Motion International Film Festival

The success of the public, repercussion and criticism of the last editions of the Brasil Stop Motion International Film Festival reaffirm that the meeting is already a landmark in the cultural calendar worldwide. Brasil Stop Motion is the only festival in South America and third to be created in the world, dedicated to this beautiful and traditional technique of animation. It was thinking of spreading this delicate and handmade way of making animation and, at the same time, inserted in the new technologies, that the meeting was created in 2011 by the journalist and photographer, Ana Farache. The festival, besides bringing to the country films from various parts of the world, brings together directors and animators nationally and internationally recognized.

This year, Brasil Stop Motion expands its operations beyond Recife and reaches the municipalities of Caruaru and Triunfo. During the festival, 75 films from 32 countries will be screened. We will also have a session with communicational accessibility for blind, low vision and deaf people with audio description, Brazilian sign language and LSE. The festival also offers workshops for professionals and beginners, children and deaf. In this edition, Brasil Stop Motion received more than 200 films from 48 countries. All festival activities are free.
